Patrick Kraft

Principal

At an early age, Patrick was drawn to the balance of artistic and technical expertise in the field of architecture. He believes that the best designs provide their occupants with an environment that is both beautiful and functional.

He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and his Master of Architecture degree at Rice University. Throughout his career spanning award-winning firms in New Orleans, Chicago, and New York City, Patrick’s work pushed the envelope of progressive design yet stayed grounded in the complex technical aspects of the profession. Project highlights include the St. Michael’s Special School with Holly and Smith Architects, the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center with Billes Partners, and the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates with Gensler.

Patrick is now putting his 20+ years of design expertise to work as a founding partner of Kennedy Kraft Architects.  His goal in any project is to design and execute a project that meets a client's needs and desires. He works closely with each client to establish a relationship based on collaboration to achieve successful results.

Outside the office, Patrick enjoys working with architecture students as a jury member and served as adjunct instructor at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is active in volunteer efforts within his community, such as the St. Pius X Men’s Club. He also enjoys cooking, hitting the links, and spending time with his family. Despite having many published architecture projects under his belt, one of his proudest achievements is winning the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest in 2009.
