TMC Linear Accelerator

This renovation of the Linear Accelerator room in Tulane Cancer Center was undertaken to accommodate the new Varian True Beam linear accelerator.  The innovative system uses image-guided, high precision radiotherapy to treat cancer anywhere in the body.  The precision required by this system demanded thorough coordination with all trades including the equipment vendor.  Custom millwork provides specific storage locations for all equipment needed by the staff.  As one of the design goals was to provide a calming environment, the room's neutral finishes, cove lighting and color-changing LED's were designed to relieve a patient's stress.
