With the popularity of pickleball growing, KKA took a “smash” at a concept design for an indoor pickleball arena within an existing warehouse. The goal was to create an immersive experience for the pickleball community, where they could enjoy the game and improve their skills. The atmosphere is fun and energetic, incorporating the organization’s branding through art and finishes.

The plan includes a mix of “Championship Courts,” standard courts, and half courts, as well as locker rooms and staff offices. Gathering spaces are woven throughout, some of which would be bookable for private events. KKA proposed retail space near the entrance, and a game room for those who would rather play virtually.

The design incorporates modern, industrial elements, leaning into the warehouse location. Colorful, large scale art energizes the space, and strips of bright green astroturf add a fun, kitschy touch.
