This renovation of 9,000 sf of the second floor of Monroe Library incorporated a center for academic assistance and testing for students with special needs.  The project included a large student work area, offices, conference room, reception area, four sound-isolated testing rooms and two private testing rooms.  The challenge of creating a new space within the library while preserving the library’s architectural features was met by the design of a large glass wall which provides visibility into the student work area.  The glass was detailed in keeping with the vernacular within the library. 

The work was completed in two phases.
